Next week in kindergarten, I will be working with my RtI group and we will be continuing with working hard on learning the letters of the alphabet and matching the sounds to go with them. We have been doing some creative ways of writing the letters and the students seem to have fun with it!
In my first grade push in group I am working with Mrs. Amish's whole class and doing guided reading with them 2 days a week. In Mrs. Sis's class we have switched to me working with 3 groups guided reading both days instead of the whole class. We think it will be more beneficial to her class.
My first grade RtI group has dropped down to 3 students instead of 4 and we are working on the bonus letters f, l, and s as well as the glued sound -all. We have added more trick words to our list and are incorporating some stories as well when we have time.
My second grade push in group with Mrs. Schultz's group we are also changing the guided reading. I will be working with 2 groups from Monday through Thursday every day instead of the whole class twice a week. We felt that the students are reading too many books at a time, with me, with Mrs. Schultz, and their anthology book that it is hard to keep track of which story is which. Hopefully, this will work better.
My second grade RtI group has gone from 2 students to 3 students and we will be learning 4 new consonant suffixes next week- ness, less, ment, and ful; as well as 3 new vowel suffixes- able, ish, en.
I was able to meet many parents this week of the students I see in my RtI groups. Great to meet you all! Thanks for your support and help with your children!
